So, I actually finished ‘The Long Quiche Goodbye’ by Avery Aames a few weeks ago, but I’ve been lazy in the review part. This is the first book in the series, there are seven in all as of right now in ‘A Cheese Shop Mystery’ series. Avery Aames also goes by another name Daryl Wood Gerber who writes ‘The Cookbook Nook Mystery’ series. I have not read that series yet. Daryl also created the format for the popular sit-com, “Out of this World” and has won awards for her screenplays.I enjoyed the first book, it took me awhile to read it in between other activities going on. The plot of the book is: Welcome to the grand opening of Fromagerie Bessette. Or as it’s more commonly known by the residents of small-town Providence, Ohio-the Cheese Shop. Proprietor Charlotte Bessette has prepared a delightful sampling of bold Cabot Clothbound Cheddar, delicious tortes of Stilton and Mascarpone, and a taste of Sauvignon Blanc-but someone else has decided to make a little crime of passion the piece de resistance. Right outside the shop Charlotte finds a body, the victim stabbed to death with one of her prized olive-wood handled knives. ( Amazon) I did enjoy this series but not enough to continue on to the next book in the series, I think because I read so many different cozy mystery series, I just couldn’t add another to my collection. But if you love cheese, wine and a little bit of murder, I think you would dig it. I got this book from the Salvation Army Thrift store.
I’m having a hard time trying to figure out what to read right now. I think because I have found so many interesting things that I can’t decide. I have promised myself that I will read the whole book and not give up when the first couple of chapters do not pull me in, also I do not want to say anything negative, believe me I can be negative, but I have found that when you do write you are putting yourself out there naked as the day you were born. These writers are just putting their souls out there.
I’m also going to include books that were given to me, free e-books and books that I haven’t read in years. I want to do this blog to expand my mind, I will read anything, but if there is any hate speech I can not condone those words.
The posts will probably not be once a week because I’m lazy in the aspect of if I do not want to do it I will find something else to occupy my time, mainly TV shows. Good thing summer is almost here and I only watch a few summer shows.
So until next time my pretties.
This blog will be about all the books that I come across in thrift stores. Stay tuned!
